Error when backing up your data: LA1001: Communication Link Dropped


When attempting to create an online backup, you may receive the following message:

LA1001: Communication Link Dropped


LA1001: LostLink


This error is caused by a loss of internet connectivity, either a complete loss or intermittent loss.  When you send data via the Internet, it sends data in multiple packets.  Some of these packets are being lost or corrupted before they reach the servers.  The error checking built into Quicken Online Backup will attempt to re-send the data packets but will abort if it keeps encountering problems.


Make sure your connection to the internet is active.  You may attempt to backup at a later time.  If you are on a wireless connection, attempt a wired backup (that is, plug your network cable directly into your computer instead of your wireless router).
