Payee Includes <Online Payee> But Does Not Appear On Online Payee List


When a payee name is used on an online payment in Quicken, that payee is added to the Online Payees List in order to create that payment. If the payee is later removed from the Online Payee List, the payee name still exists in Quicken because it has been used in old transactions.


Quicken will not remove the online status (lightening bolt) from online payments in order to prevent the Quicken file from entering an "out-of-sync" condition with the financial institutions online bill payment service and erroring out.  Online status flag on the transaction results in <Online Payee> tag associated with the Payee.

The <Online Payee> tag is a visual display only and will appear in Quicken only and not on printed transactions.
