Quicken Online Backup Error: LA4104

Overview

You could receive the following error when attempting to use the Quicken Online Backup Service:

  • LA4104: Your installation was not finished.  A connection will be made to the Data Center to complete your installation.
    -or-
  • LA4104: Invalid data format 4

Instructions

 To resolve this error, you will need to install the new Online backup application below.

  1.  Right-click on the OnlineBackup icon from the Task Bar, and choose About...

  2. In the window that appears, copy down your Account ID (You will need this to reinstall the software).

  3. Download the new Online Backup software here
  4. Uninstall the currently installed application using Add/Remove Programs.
  5. Reboot your computer
  6. Double-Click the Onlinebackup.exe file you downloaded in step 3 to begin the installation
  7. When prompted enter your account ID and password.
  8. You can now use the online backup service in Quicken.
