What if I receive an error message saying that the payee information could not be updated?


You may notice that you have changed or updated information for an online payee, the payee information looks right in Quicken, but you received an error message saying that the payee information could not be updated.


This may happen if your payment processor doesn't allow you to change online payee information. In this case, Quicken stores the new information for your reference, but retains a copy of the original information. This copy of the original information is transmitted with your online payments.

  • If you need to update this payee, you may add this payee again with a different name. For example, if you had an online payee such as Anytown Telephone Co., you could change the payee name to Anytown Telephone Company.
