Your Financial Institution rejected your request...

Overview

When deleting online payees, you may receive the following message:

Your Financial Institution rejected your request due to an invalid payee ID number, please contact your Financial Institution.

This error happens in some cases when the online payee has already been deleted from your bank's online banking system but still exists in Quicken. The most common cause is the payee was deleted at the bank's website but not in Quicken. The following steps will allow you to delete the payees in Quicken.

  1. From  Tools (or Online) choose Online Payee List.
  2. Select the payee you want to delete.
  3. Press Ctrl key and click Delete.
  4. Hold the Ctrl key and click OK at the confirmation message.

In some cases, you will not be able to delete the payees using this procedure. If you are not able to delete the payees, continue with the steps below.

  1. From  Tools (or Online) choose Online Payee List.
  2. Select the payee you want to delete and click Delete.
  3. Deactivate online services for all accounts held at the financial institution. If you are using Quicken Bill Pay, deactivate the service for all Quicken Bill Pay accounts.
  4. Activate online services for all accounts deactivated in step 3.
  5. Complete a One Step Update.
