How do I copy or rename a form layout

Suppose you've worked hard on customizing an invoice. You've carefully placed all the layout items exactly where you want them, and your logo looks just right. But this layout is for your consulting work, and you want a slightly different layout for the retail side of your business. Do you have to start from scratch?

No. You can copy the layout, and make any minor changes you need.

  • Copy a form layout

1. Open an existing form layout, or create a new one.

2.On the toolbar, choose Layout menu > Copy.

3.In the Copy Layout dialog, in the Select a Layout to Copy field, select a form layout to copy. (Optional)

Quicken automatically selects the current layout, but you can copy any layout that you've saved.

4.In the New Layout Name field, enter a name for the copy.

What happens next?

Quicken makes your copy the current layout and preserves your original form layout.

  • Rename a form layout

1. Open an existing form layout, or create a new one.

2.On the toolbar, choose Layout menu > Rename.

3.In the Rename Layout dialog, in the Select a layout to rename field, select a form layout to rename. (Optional)

Quicken automatically selects the current layout, but you can rename any layout that you've saved.

4.In the New Layout Name field, enter a new name for the layout.

5.Click OK.

Notes

When you rename a layout, the Forms Designer doesn't make a copy of the layout with a new name. It renames the actual layout. To make a copy of a layout and give it a new name, use the procedure to copy a form layout.
