When Backing Up Data Using Online Backup in Quicken: Assertion Failed!
When using the online backup service in Quicken you may receive the following error:
Assertion Failed! Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken\qw.exe. File:..\..\shared\fileio\Entry32.cpp. Line 142. Expression: ff-
To resolve this error, you will need to install the new Online backup application below.
- Right-click on the OnlineBackup icon from the Task Bar, and choose About...
- In the window that appears, copy down your Account ID (You will need this to reinstall the software).
- Download the new Online Backup software here
- Uninstall the currently installed application using Add/Remove Programs.
- Reboot your computer
- Double-Click the Onlinebackup.exe file you downloaded in step 3 to begin the installation
- When prompted enter your account ID and password.
- You can now use the online backup service in Quicken
