Error 2005, 2008, or 2011 Updating Accounts in Quicken Mac Products


Quicken Mac 2015 (or newer) may return an error when attempting to update or activate accounts connected using Direct Connect:

  • Error 2005
  • Error 2008
  • Error 2011

The server returned an OFX response containing an OFX error "The account <account name> is not authorized for this request at this time. For more information, contact <financial institution>."

This error typically occurs with financial institutions that require enrollment or registration with them for connecting to their accounts through a personal finance management application. The Online Banking Support for the financial institution would be able to assist with that enrollment/registration, if their website does not offer any "self-help" solution for connecting through Quicken products.

If the error message does not contain the financial institutions phone number to call for assistance, you can find the contact number by one of the following methods:

  • Click the Settings button for an activated account, then click the List button next to the FI name;
  • Click the Add Account button to get to the screen with the financial institution name, displaying their contact number and URL;
  • Log into your account(s) at the FI website, then find their technical support or customer service contact number.
