Error When Using Online Services: CC-505
Before you begin: if you receive this error with Capital One bank accounts, do not follow the steps below. This error occurs when the Capital One website is unavailable to download transactions to Quicken. This could be due to a website outage, or Capital One may be preventing Quicken from accessing the Capital One website due to very high traffic. The only way to resolve this issue is to wait and try again later. If this issue persists for more than 48 hours, please contact Capital One.
You may receive the following message when you attempt to update your account transactions in Quicken:
"CC-505 - Quicken is unable to update your account. This may be due to a temporary server issue or a communication error. Please try again."
You may receive the following message when you attempt to add a financial account in Quicken:
"CC-505 - Quicken can't add this account because the [financial institution's] website is temporarily unavailable. Please try again in a few hours. Thank you for your patience!"
Refresh your online account information
- From your account register, select the Actions gear icon at the very top right of your register (Ctrl + Shift + N).
- Select Update Now.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
- Repeat these steps for each financial institution experiencing this error.
If the issue persists, try these steps again the next business day. If the problem continues for more than a few days, contact Quicken Support for assistance. Your financial institution cannot resolve this issue.
