Overview
With the new connection that Charles Schwab has provided, SWVXX (Value Advantage Money Market Fund) and SWGXX (Schwab Government Money Fund) are going to appear differently in Quicken. The new format will now map the shares to cash.
This change is by design by Schwab:
- These securities are listed as cash so they will be represented under the cash balance in Quicken, not as an actual security in the brokerage account.
- These funds will show as dividends and not "buys" and "sells" as they did in the past.
- To verify the amount that the fund should represent, review the cash amount in Quicken vs. the cash amount in the Schwab account at the Schwab website.
After a deactivate and reactivate of the Schwab accounts that are not yet migrated to EWC+, the money market funds will show in the new cash format.
