When choosing the vehicle used in a new Mileage Tracker record, the Purpose field automatically reverts to the first item listed. This is a known issue affecting Quicken Home & Business and 2009 Rental Property Manager.
To work around this issue, you'll need to re-select the correct entry from the Purpose list after you select the vehicle used, then save the record.
