Overview

Microsoft ended support for Windows 8/8.1 in January 2023 and it is no longer receiving improvements or security updates. We will also be discontinuing support for these operating systems on June 1, 2025.

Your options

  • Some users on Windows 8/8.1 can upgrade to Windows 10. With this option, there are some points to consider:

    • Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 by October 2025.

    • You will need to buy a license for Windows 11 and use the same for activating Windows 10.

  • If your system is not compatible with either Windows 10 or 11, you can upgrade to a newer system.

  • If you choose not to upgrade your operating system, you will be able to continue to use Quicken for Windows. However, we cannot guarantee that all features and services will work as intended. If you encounter any issues while using Quicken on Windows 8 or 8.1, we will be unable to assist.
