Before you begin

  • If you missed any releases, don't worry.  You only need to download the most recent release to update Quicken.
  • To check your release version, open Quicken and go to Help > About Quicken.  If it's a lower number than the release here (listed in the Release Notes section below), you need to update.
  • If you reinstall Quicken, make sure you've installed the latest patch release before opening your data file; otherwise, you'll be unable to use online services.
  • If you are seeing an Unable to check for updates, the server file failed to load error, click here.

How to Install the Update (US and Canada)

  1. Click on the link above for the update you prefer (these steps apply to both).
  2. Choose Save As, then browse to your desktop and save it there. If you get a prompt asking if you want to allow the program to make changes, you will need to allow.
  3. From your desktop, right-click the newly downloaded file QW##.#.#.#Patch or QW##.#.#.#MPatch and select Run as Administrator.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
  5. When finished, you can verify the release version of Quicken by selecting the Help menu in the software and choosing About Quicken.

Release R11.18 (US Versions, Aug 2018)

Before you take this update, we recommend you perform a One Step Update to ensure that your data is synced to the cloud and also make a backup of your data file.

  • Fixed: An issue where, in some cases, check numbers were deleted when trying to sync Quicken desktop and mobile devices.
  • Fixed: An issue where opening the Bills dashboard took longer than expected​.

  • Improved: Bills Calendar view is back!
  • New: You can now email reports directly from Quicken.
  • New: Export register transactions to Excel.
  • Improved: Improved the recent file list in the Quicken file menu to better handle recently removed data files.
  • Fixed: An issue where the account currency was set to blank, if the account was synced to mobile.
  • Fixed: An issue where the import of investing accounts via web connect was failing.
  • Fixed: An issue with sorting order in the Stack view.
  • Fixed: Cleaned up the filters in the Bill Dashboard.
  • Fixed: An issue where credit card payments, which are set as transfers, were shown as charges on the credit card register.
