Before you begin

  • If you missed any releases, don't worry.  You only need to download the most recent release to update Quicken.
  • To check your release version, open Quicken and go to Help > About Quicken.  If it's a lower number than the release here (listed in the Release Notes section below), you need to update.
  • If you reinstall Quicken, make sure you've installed the latest patch release before opening your data file; otherwise, you'll be unable to use online services.

How to Install the Update (US and Canada)

  1. Click on the link above for the update you prefer (these steps apply to both).
  2. Choose Save As, then browse to your desktop and save it there. If you get a prompt asking if you want to allow the program to make changes, you will need to allow.
  3. From your desktop, right-click the newly downloaded file QW##.#.#.#Patch or QW##.#.#.#MPatch and select Run as Administrator.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
  5. When finished, you can verify the release version of Quicken by selecting the Help menu in the software and choosing About Quicken.

Before you take this update, we recommend you perform a One Step Update to ensure that your data is synced to the cloud and also make a backup of your data file.

  • Improved: Ability to include or exclude attachments when you copy data files. By default, attachments are included while copying data files. However, you can uncheck the Include attachments option to exclude copying attachments.
  • Fixed: An issue with using filters on the Investment Report.
  • Fixed: An issue with adding attachments to accounts.
  • Fixed: An issue where the Income vs. Expenses graph displayed incorrect information in some cases.
  • Fixed: An issue where the PayPal payment links were not generated correctly for invoices with a value higher than $999.99.
  • Fixed: An issue where Reconciliation reports did not list the most recent transactions.
  • Fixed: An issue where you were required to sign in after updating your profile information.
  • Fixed: An issue where, in some cases, new payees were not added to the memorized payee list, even though you configured them to be added automatically.

Before you take this update, we recommend you perform a One Step Update to ensure that your data is synced to the cloud and also make a backup of your data file.

  • New: Ability to remove the transaction password using a One Time Password (OTP) that you can receive at your registered email address or through a text message to your registered mobile number.
  • New: Ability to remove your Data File password using a One Time Password (OTP) that you can receive at your registered mobile or email address.
  • New: Find all the Quicken Data Files on your computer using the File > Find Quicken Files option.
  • Improved: Accounts in the Account bar now show cents in account balances by default. To change this, you can right-click any account and uncheck the Show cents in amounts option.
  • Improved: In addition to your backup settings, data files are now automatically backed up each time you update Quicken to the latest version.
  • Improved: Ability to exclude hidden or closed accounts in Find and Replace operations.
