Overview

When entering a new transaction in Quicken Classic for Mac, pressing the Tab key may not move from one field to the next as expected. This can make data entry feel slow or frustrating, especially if you’re used to navigating forms using only the keyboard.

To resolve this issue

In many cases, this behavior is caused by keyboard or system settings rather than an issue with the application itself. To resolve the problem, you’ll need to review and adjust your keyboard settings so that the Tab key is recognized correctly for moving between fields during data entry.

To check your keyboard settings, follow these steps:

  1. Open the System Settings on your Mac.

  2. Click on Accessibility in the sidebar.

  3. Scroll down and click on Keyboard (it may appear under Motor depending on your macOS version).

  4. Toggle the switch next to Full Keyboard Access to the Off position.

Once your keyboard settings are set up correctly, your Tab key should once again move you from one field to the next while entering new transactions.

If the issue persists

If the steps above don’t resolve the issue, we recommend contacting Apple Support for further assistance.
