“Oops", "Unknown Error" or “Check Internet Connection” message in Quicken for Windows 2014, 2015 or 2016 (U.S. and Canada)
You may receive an "Oops", "Unknown Error" or "Check Internet Connection" message if you're using the following Quicken for Windows product versions:
- Quicken for Windows 2014 R8 or earlier versions
- Quicken for Windows 2015 R9 or earlier versions
- Quicken for Windows 2016 R3 or earlier versions
As part of Quicken’s continuous efforts to keep your data secure, you are required to use the latest Quicken update versions, which support several security enhancements including Multi Factor Authentication (MFA).
What does this error mean?
MFA verification is required to enable Quicken to connect to online banking services. If you have not updated to the latest release, your Quicken may not be MFA enabled, and thus can’t connect to the internet. This results in a “check internet connection” error.
In order to continue downloading transactions, paying bills, or using other online services, you’ll need to update to the latest version of Quicken.
