When attempting to back up your Quicken data file using Quicken Online Backup, Quicken may stop responding for an extended period before displaying one of the following messages:
“There was an error creating the online backup” or “Care Code: -1005.”

To resolve this issue
We recommend first checking the
Step One: Check whether you are using the latest version of Quicken. If not, install the latest update.
Click Help.
Select Check for Updates.
Step Two: Validate your data file.
Click File.
Select Validate and Repair File.
Check the box next to Validate File.
Click OK.
Step Three: Verify the location of your data file.
If it is stored in a cloud service such as OneDrive or Dropbox, follow the steps in this
Step Four: Confirm that your computer is connected to the internet and that the connection is stable.
Step Five: Sign out of your Quicken product, then sign back in.
Go to the Edit menu and select Preferences.
Select Quicken ID & Cloud Accounts from the left panel.
Click Sign in as a different user on the right side.
Type yes in the prompt, then click Sign Out.
Sign back in using the same email address.
Step Six: Restart your computer.
Step Seven: If you are using a VPN or antivirus software, temporarily disable it and try again.
Note: The file size limit is 5 GB per file (5,000,000 KB).

Step Two: Reset Quicken Cloud.
Click Quicken in the upper-left corner next to the Apple logo.
Select Settings.
Click Connected Services.
In the Cloud Account section, click Reset.
Step Three: Confirm that your computer is connected to the internet and that the connection is stable.
Step Four: Sign out of your Quicken product, then sign back in.
Open the Quicken menu in the top-left corner.
Select Sign Out and confirm the action.
Sign back in using your Quicken ID and password when prompted.
Step Five: Restart your computer.
Step Six: If you are using a VPN or antivirus software, temporarily disable it and try again.
